As per the Georgia Office of Public Health’s webpage, COVID incidences in Georgia have grown in recent weeks.
However, health doctors such as Dr. Cecil Bennett of Newnan Family Medicine advise patients not to worry, but to exercise caution as warm air rises.
“We know there are more individuals out during the day now that the weather is getting warmer, and we’re huddling more,” he said. “Because we’re not wearing masks, it’s likely that incidents would rise.”
According to Dr. Bennett, those are only the examples that have been documented.
Bennett also emphasized the gravity of recent occurrences, citing several of his patients with only minor symptoms.
“I think that, while the number of instances may increase in the future, there will be far less severe sickness,” he stated.
As per the state’s office of public safety, the seven-day rolling average of cases reported was just over 2,000 as of May 25.
