The government announced 404 cases of coronavirus infection confirmed in the last 24 hours after conducting 14,702 rapid tests and PCRs on Friday (June 3rd). Three people died on the same day, and 79 were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. 222 new instances of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection were discovered in the preceding 24 hours, increasing the total to 404.

In the last 24 hours, 44 new cases have been reported involving re-infected patients who were positive for more than 90 days after the first infection. In addition to the newly verified cases, 47 previously positive patients were retested and found to be positive again. 404 cases were found after 3,459 RT-PCR tests (2,096 based on case definition and medical protocol, 1,363 on request) and 11,243 rapid antigen tests.

Three COVID deaths

Three deaths have been reported to INSP in the last 24 hours (1 male and 2 females). There was one death in the 60-69 age group, one in the 70-79 age group, and one over the age of 80. All of the victims were unvaccinated and had a variety of ailments. The SARS-CoV-2 virus has killed 65,689 people to date.

How many COVID-19 patients are in ICUs in Romania?

The number of COVID-19 patients admitted to hospital wards is 490, which is six more than the previous day. Furthermore, 79 patients were admitted to intensive care units, the same number as the previous day. 

Seventy-one percent of the 79 patients admitted to the ICU are immunized. There are 29 children among the total number of hospitalized patients, all of whom are receiving care in wards, three fewer than the day before, and none at ATI, the same number as the day before.
