Third world countries get over one million Covid vaccines thanks to Latvia

Latvia's donation of one million Covid vaccines aids third world countries in their fight against the pandemic, with significant contributions made to Tunisia, Egypt, Moldova, Albania, Vietnam, Benin, Kenya, Georgia, Oxford, and the COVAX mechanism.

A total of one million doses of anti-Covid vaccines had been donated to countries outside of Latvia as of 31 May, according to the National Health Service.

More immunizations were given to Vaxzevria than any other city, with 452 400 doses given out.

As a result of this, Latvia has provided 64200 pills to Tunisia, 115000 doses to Egypt and 30000 doses each to Moldova, Albania and Vietnam. It has also provided 80000 doses to Benin and 55200 doses to Kenya. The COVAX mechanism received 48 000 vaccination doses as a donation from the public.

83 070 doses of Comirnaty, 5 000 doses of Nuvaxivid, and 492 000 doses of Janssen vaccine were also contributed to Georgia, Oxford, and the COVAX mechanism.
