The Covid Disease Surveillance Update, published by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Martinique on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, provides the weekly update on the count. Between May 23 and 29, 2019, 5,344 new cases were recorded in Martinique. There are 29 patients in hospital - four in critical care - including 5 fatalities to be lamented.

The weekly situation reports released by ARS, the Martinique Regional Health Agency, from May 23 to 29, 2022 report that out of the 16,612 Covid tests that were conducted, 5344 were tested positive ( last week 5320 people were tested positive.

The spread of SARS-CoV2 is not decreasing. Amid slightly declining screening usage, the incidence rate remained steady. The positivity rate, on the other hand, has risen by 2.1 percentage points to 32.2 percent (30.9% in 2022-10, or +2%).

The situation in hospitals was generally stable during the first weeks of 2022-21. The number of adult emergency visits remained constant as of May 31, 2022. Admissions to all services were closed.

29 people have been hospitalized, with 4 in critical care. Hospitals are making efforts to stabilize the situation.

This week, there have been five fatalities. (Since the start of the epidemic, 941 deaths have been reported by CHUM.)

COVID19 vaccination rates are at 45.3% for the Martinican population eligible to receive the serum according to data from INPI (Institut National de la Statistique et des Études Economiques).
