While the Sultanate's restrictive measures will be relaxed on Wednesday (June 1), the public should be on the lookout for infections like Covid-19.

Minister of Health - Dato Seri Setia Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar declared at a regular press briefing in the capital that Sultanate is however not "totally endemic."

"We now have to report flu and other disorders and seek treatment, making the health cycle easier to manage," the minister continued.

Despite the fact that the Sultanate recorded over 306 new instances  on Monday night, Dr Mohd Isham assured the public that the pandemic is in control.

He noted that the ministry will continue to assess the Sultanate's progress, particularly in cases requiring breathing assistance and acute care therapy.

On Monday, Brunei reported a spike in Covid-19 cases, with 306 infections recorded, 304 from antigen rapid test screenings and two from 156 RT-PCR laboratory testing in the last 24 hours.

The number of confirmed instances in the Sultanate is currently 148,395.
