Solomon Airlines hailed Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare’s declaration that international borders will reopen on 1 July 2022.
The airline said opening borders and relaxing travel restrictions, including lifting internal travel restrictions over the weekend, are positive moves that will allow it to reestablish its domestic time schedule for international operations.
It will allow Solomon Airlines to service local demand and prepare for additional foreign visitors, CEO Brett Gebers said.
“We’ve changed our domestic plan effective June 6 to preparation for inbound links on Friday via our Brisbane to Honiara service and to enhance capacity to Gizo, Auki, Munda, and Santa Cruz, where we’re already seeing increased booking demand.
