The number of active Covid-19 cases in Brunei has already surpassed 1,800, according to the country's health minister

In Brunei, there are 1,871 active cases, with 342 new cases reported yesterday. There are five patients in hospitals, while 1,866 individuals are being self-isolated at home.

Antigen rapid tests screening revealed 339 new cases, with three more uncovered over the previous 24 hours of 223 RT-PCR laboratory testing.

The country's total number of confirmed instances now stands at 149,679. In the recent 24 hours, no Covid-related deaths have been reported.

"There are no cases in Category 5 that require critical care," the minister said, adding that "there is one case in Category 4 that requires respiratory assistance and is being closely followed."

He added that he has discovered another 301 persons, bringing the total number of people uncovered to 147,585.

Dr. Mohd Isham also noted that 179 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine had been provided to children aged five to eleven as of Thursday, raising the age group's first-dose immunisation coverage rate to 81.7 percent.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 has a booster rate of 70.9 percent.

The minister went on to say that 1,025 children in the same age range received second vaccine doses, bringing the overall number of children who received second shots to 53.2 percent.
