Paraguay's health minister warns COVID-19 cases will peak again in July

At a press conference, Dr. Julio Borba, the minister of health, stated that COVID-19 cases are increasing in Paraguay. In July, the peak of coronavirus cases will be noted.  

“It is not to alarm. This upcoming wave of COVID-19 infections won't be like the ones we experienced in the past," according to the health authority.

However, the purpose of this notification is to alert the public and urge them to exercise appropriate caution, such as wearing face masks in enclosed spaces and avoiding or taking extra precautions in areas with a high concentration of people, such as public transportation. The adoption of the chinstrap in hospitals is also requested by authorities in Paraguay.

According to Borba, vaccination rates have been low recently. In medical facilities, there are about 1 million doses of the COVID-19 and influenza vaccines. The best practice is to administer booster doses every four months. Imposing restrictions was outright rejected by him, adding that "we must learn to live with the virus."
