The Health Ministry (MoH) declared on Tuesday that there have been no confirmed or suspected instances of monkey pox sickness in Oman.
"The Ministry of Health is constantly monitoring the worldwide epidemiological scenario as well as the daily updates surrounding the monkey pox," stated a statement published by it.
This ailment has not been recorded in the sultanate thus far, according to the ministry's statement.
An official statement from the ministry stated that it is prepared to respond to any outbreak of infectious disease.
Citizens and residents are encouraged to avoid direct contact with anyone showing signs of respiratory illness or a rash, particularly those who have recently travelled from countries where instances have been documented.
Everyone was also urged to wear face masks and wash their hands with soap and water, or use sanitizers.
The MoH emphasized the need of only relying on official sources for information and ignoring rumours.
