According to Harmanci, the government of Azerbaijan has reportedly requested the WHO to purchase the diagnostic tests.

She further adds, "there are different variants of the disease; hence, we are working together to determine which of these is most likely to take place at this point. To accomplish all that we have set out to do, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health and the Medical Territorial Units Management Union (TABIB) are cooperating with us. Preparations are being made to send thousands of monkeypox diagnostic tests to Azerbaijan."

Harmanci further concluded that she does not see any potential threat of the monkeypox virus spreading across Azerbaijan.
