Mental health and primary care services to be offered at Bucharest centre for refugees

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, two medical professionals are all set to launch primary care and mental health services at the Romexpo refugee centre, the Health Ministry announced on Monday, June 20. The two new medical offices will open their doors on the same day—which also happens to be World Refugee Day.

In addition to providing services in the areas of family medicine, gynaecology, and family planning, the two offices that were established with assistance from the regional office of the WHO will also offer psychological counselling, as well as both individual and group psychotherapy services.

At the centre, patients will have the access to informative pamphlets on topics such as their rights to medical services, the use of antibiotics, and vaccination. According to the ministry's announcement, these leaflets will also be available in Romanian and English.
