There are three VHA COVID-19 Health Protection Levels, which correspond to the CDC's transmission levels of the community. These levels hinge upon the number of new COVID cases and the proportion of positive testing in the community.

Starting this week, care team approved visitors, screenings according to symptoms and masks along with physical separation will be required at the hospital center.

A medical center director and CEO says, "Our local Veterans are steadfast about obtaining their care at our facility, and we all want to protect them from harm amid the ups and downs of the COVID-19 community spread," he says. "Safety procedures will be changed depending on community COVID-19 levels, rather than expanding or lowering access to treatment."

To ensure the safety of patients and their loved ones, visitors to the Medical Center are urged to check the facility's website or contact 717-272-6621. The Health Protection Level should be checked with the health institution before patients or visitors go to a VA hospital in another county.
