The SPKC (Disease control and prevention center) of Latvia, revealed today that there were two COVID-19 related deaths in the country over the last 24 hours.

Only 5.4 percent of the 3,520 tests were positive. From 128.2 on Wednesday to 127.7 on Thursday, the 2-week accumulated overall incidence per 100,000 people was down. Since August 2021, that would be the lowest level.

More than 827,889 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Latvia's 1.9 million residents since the outbreak began.

The overall number of people who have died since the outbreak began is 5,820. The most recent victims were between the ages of 70 and 79, and 90 and 99. Neither had received the full dose of their respective vaccines.

According to NVD hospital statistics released on Wednesday, 167 people were being examined and treated in different hospitals across the country, seven of whom had severe signs and symptoms of Covid.
