In Réunion, the pandemic has slowed, thanks in part to the Ascension

The coronavirus is no longer in circulation during the last week of summer vacation. Réunion will have its first week with no more than 2,000 instances of COVID to commemorate Ascension Day.

The coronavirus has declined for the sixth week in a row in Réunion's territory. In the health-care sector, progress is being achieved. We'll have to wait until next week to find out if the traditional epidemic rebound at the start of the school year has been avoided.

The number of coronavirus infections in Réunion is higher than the national average. It also breaches the containment boundaries established during an emergency.

Less than 2,000 cases each week

Réunion has slipped below the 2,000 contamination barrier for the first time since the commencement of the fifth coronavirus outbreak.

For the first time this year, the optimism index dropped below 20%. Every 100,000 people, there are approximately 250 new cases.

Lowering the hospital's pressure

According to Santé Publique France, the situation in Réunion hospitals is improving as of this writing. The capacity of the hospital would be reduced. There would be no significant shift in the realm of critical care.
