As a final measure to battle potential Covid variations, the Government stated that it could not eliminate the possibilities of a resumption of lockdowns.

Lockdowns and border restrictions, according to the new Covid-19 Response Minister Dr. Ayesha Verrall, will only be used as a last option.

According to our laws, "all measures must be reasonable, proportionate, and necessary."

Today afternoon, Verrall and Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, director-general of health, had a press conference to discuss the potential progression of the pandemic.

The minister said, "There is a great deal of unpredictability and in that setting having a really prescriptive strategy might actually be a liability."

A new Covid-19 variety of concerns will most certainly appear in the next weeks or months, according to the Ministry of Health.
