The government released its plan of action for any future Covid-19 variations, immediately followed by the most recent case figures.

In today’s bulletin, the Health ministry noted an additional 18, Covid-related fatalities. Three of the eighteen happened since last Monday, and three occurred in the previous three days.

There are 334 patients with the virus in the hospital, including four who are in intensive care.

Hospitalization rates were greatest in Canterbury, Waitemata, Counties Manukau, and Auckland.

As a final measure to battle potential Covid variations, the Government stated that it could not eliminate the possibilities of a resumption of lockdowns.

Lockdowns and border restrictions, according to the new Covid-19 Response Minister Dr. Ayesha Verrall, will only be used as a last option.

According to our laws, “all measures must be reasonable, proportionate, and necessary.”

Today afternoon, Verrall and Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, director-general of health, had a press conference to discuss the potential progression of the pandemic.

The minister said, “There is a great deal of unpredictability and in that setting having a really prescriptive strategy might actually be a liability.”

A new Covid-19 variety of concerns will most certainly appear in the next weeks or months, according to the Ministry of Health.
