Healthcare funds for South Sudan

Supporting Healthcare in South Sudan: Improving Health Services and Rights Canada's generous contribution of $68.5 million to the Health Pooled Fund (HPF) will enhance the availability and quality of health services in South Sudan. This project aims to uplift the health and well-being of the population in eight states, with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health services. Additionally, Canada's $37 million contribution toward the sexual and reproductive health fund will empower women and girls by increasing access to skilled healthcare providers and addressing gender-based violence. Together, these initiatives aim to create positive change and promote healthy behaviors in South Sudan.

This project aims to improve the health and well-being of people in eight of South Sudan's ten states. Canada's contribution to the Health Pooled Fund (HPF) contributes to the availability of quality health services, including sexual and reproductive health services, in hundreds of South Sudanese health facilities and surrounding communities. Canada's contribution also helps to raise awareness of healthy behaviours as well as women's and adolescent girls' sexual and reproductive health rights.

The sexual and reproductive health fund will receive $37 million

This project aims to improve South Sudanese women and girls' health and rights by increasing the availability of skilled health care providers- particularly midwives, positively changing attitudes toward sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV), and assisting the government in developing and implementing SRHR and GBV policies.
