The healthcare landscape in Rapid City, South Dakota, has been transformed with the opening of a pioneering new facility - the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills. This joint venture between Vibra Healthcare and Monument Health is currently the only facility of its kind in the region, offering both inpatient medical rehabilitation and long-term acute care under one roof. The hospital houses 36 rehabilitation beds and 18 long-term acute care beds, and is currently open for referrals for rehabilitation services.

The Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills was born out of a collaboration between Vibra Healthcare and Monument Health. Managed by an affiliate of Vibra Healthcare, the hospital is an innovative project that integrates inpatient medical rehabilitation and critical care services. Equipped for Excellence

The hospital is fitted with 54 private rooms designed to foster a healing environment for patients. A spacious rehabilitation gym and top-of-the-line rehab equipment facilitate progressive rehabilitation programs. These programs cater to a variety of conditions, including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, and musculoskeletal disorders. The hospital is also prepared to provide critical care services for individuals with complex medical conditions, expanding its reach in patient care.

The hospital is led by a team of seasoned healthcare professionals. Darla Perdue, the chief clinical officer, has been recognized as a 2022 Women of Influence honoree. In addition, Angelique Culver has been appointed to the Racial Justice Institute's board, demonstrating the hospital's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
