In Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek celebrates World Blood Donor Day

On the second floor of the Asia Mall shopping center today, a large-scale campaign to collect donated blood is taking place. This was reported by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health’s press service.

This year’s World Blood Donor Day slogan is “Blood donation is an act of solidarity.” Donate and help save lives.”

Donation registration began at 9:00 a.m. The ministry reiterates that Donor Day is celebrated every year on June 14.

This commemorative date was established to raise public awareness of the need for safe blood and blood components for transfusion; to recognize the most important contribution of volunteers who donate blood for free to ensure an uninterrupted supply of blood components to the city’s healthcare organizations, and to boost national blood services’ efforts to strengthen and broaden voluntary blood donation programs.
