Essential medical supplies reach Afghanistan

Delivering essential medical supplies to Afghanistan and other territories, Direct Relief has provided much-needed aid including N-95 masks, antibiotics, chronic disease medications, mental health medications, and more. A recent shipment included prenatal vitamins to support pregnancy cases in a Kabul hospital. Since 2008, Direct Relief has donated over 187 tons of medicines and health aid to Afghanistan.

Over the period of the last week, Direct Relief has managed to deliver 330 shipments of asked for medical aid to 48 of its territories and states along with 7 countries including Afghanistan. 

These shipments were off 4.3 daily defined doses along with N-95 masks, antibiotics, medications for chronic diseases, mental health medications, insulin, nutritional products, as well as cancer treatment drugs. 

A couple of days ago this week, there was a shipment of vitamins for prenatal babies, in order to support the cases of pregnancy that a hospital in Kabul is providing. This shipment weighed in at 1,700 pounds and has 1,231,000 defined daily doses. Since 2008, Direct Relief has to date given in excess of 187 tons of medicines and health aid to Afghanistan.
