In light of the fact that further cases of monkey pox continue to be discovered in a number of nations all over the globe, Namibia is also keeping track of the progression of the epidemic.

The recent outbreak of monkey pox was discovered for the first time in the United Kingdom, and then the virus started to be detected across Europe. Public health agencies in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Sweden have all confirmed cases of monkey pox in their respective countries.

Soini Negongo talked to Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, Minister of Health and Social Services in Namibia, who is now in Geneva for the World Health Assembly of the 75th Session of the World Health Organization. Dr. Shangula provided Soini Negongo with information on the readiness of Namibia (WHO).
