Covid-19 in Portugal: daily average of infections declines, Rt
The normal infection rate has reduced to 25,042 daily cases in Portugal, the transmissibility index (Rt) of covid-19 is currently below 1, INSA said Wednesday.
As per the weekly report released by the Instituto Nacional de Sade Doutor (INSA) happening the progress of the epidemic, the average number of daily SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infections in five days dropped from 26,349 to 25,042 on the mainland (23,663).
The average Rt value between May 30 and June 3 was 0.98, compared to 1.00 in the prior report.
Since 26 April, Portugal’s Rt has been over 1.00, reaching 1.26 on 9 May.
INSA reports Rts of 0.91 in the North, 0.96 in the Center, 1.04 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 0.96 in Alentejo, 0.98 in the Algarve, 1.05 in the Azores, and 1.29 in Madeira.
The Azores (4,366.6), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (3,690), and the North (3,111.8) have the greatest occurrence rates.
The national 14-day cumulative incidence rate is 3,294.5 and 3,279.5 on the mainland.
