COVID-19 booster programme roll-out details in Trinidad and Tobago

The following people can now receive a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as a result of a decision by the Ministry of Health:

  • All had some degree of immunodeficiency.
  • Individuals that are over the age of 60 (60).
  • professionals in the medical field.

A second COVID-19 booster was found to be effective in seven (7) studies, according to the Ministry of Health. This led to the decision to issue booster doses. These findings were recognized by the World Health Organization's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) and the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group.

The second COVID-19 vaccination booster can now be given to eligible individuals four to six months following the first.


In Trinidad and Tobago, Pfizer COVID-19 booster vaccines are offered at the following locations:

  • The Paddock at Queen's Park Savannah NWRHA
  • ERHA Mayaro Civic Center,
  •  Hansraj Sumairsingh Multipurpose Complex in Rio Claro
  • Arima's El Dorado NCRHA COSTAATT Health Center. 

Maloney Medical Center and Larry Gomes Stadium are also nearby.


There are two medical centers in the area: Chaguanas Medical Center and Arouca Medical Center, as well as Tacarigua Medical Center and UTT Chaguanas Campus-Munroe Road.

Individuals wishing to receive a booster vaccination must present a government-issued photo ID and their immunization card (with COVID-19 vaccinations documented).

Ministers promise to update the COVID-19 Booster Immunization Schedule with additional information as warranted.
