The death toll from the 2019 flu season in Argentina rose to at least 64 people on Saturday, according to the country's government. Healthcare providers are reporting an increase in patients with severe pneumonia and dengue fever over the past several weeks.

The latest data, which were released on Tuesday, have resulted in the total caseload having reached 9,276,618. Likewise, the overall death toll on a national scale has also risen to 128,973.

The number of people in intensive care units is currently 1,867, with a bed occupancy rate of 43.1 percent nationwide.

As per the ministry's Public Vaccination Monitoring system, Argentina began its COVID-19 immunization campaign in December 2020 and has so far given 103,507,017 doses.
