According to Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga, the Brazilian gov plans to legalize the use of a supplementary COVID-19 booster dose for adults over 50 years old. "The 2nd booster dose was permitted for individuals over 60 years old (in May) and will be expanded to everyone over 50," he inform the media from Brasilia, rest of the details will be technically out shortly.

When the Department Of health approved the next booster dose, it was suggested that it be given four months following the first. This comes amid the hike of COVID-19 instances, fatalities, and hospitalizations in the South American nation, and states and cities are once again recommending the use of masks in enclosed settings.

To present, 166.1 million Brazilians (77.4% of the population) have received complete vaccinations, with over 93 million receiving one higher dose and 3.5 million receiving two booster shots.
