As Covid-19 cases increase, the Ghana Wellbeing Service promotes immunisation

The Ghana wellbeing Service is asking everyone to be immunised.

As the number of Covid active cases rises, the Service is concerned that attempts to combat the illness may be futile since some Ghanaians are refusing to get inoculated.

Dr. Franklin Asiedu Bekoe, Chief of Public Wellbeing at GHS, said that "Covid-19 instances have increased over the previous two weeks."

According to him, it is an indication that the disease is still active, and citizens should be vigilant.

"Our most recent data reveals around 300 instances." This indicates that the infection is still present in the system. We also have the flu (H3N2), so many individuals are coughing and sneezing. The majority of the test findings came back as H3N2 or Covid-19."

As Covid-19 cases increase, the Ghana Wellbeing Service promotes immunisation.

Dr. Bekoe told Citi FM in Accra that the most of the cases are in the Greater Accra Region.

"Some were discovered in schools, while others were discovered during parties and indoor gatherings."

As a result, he taught that the more individuals who are vaccinated, the more "we can at least curb the spread."

He said that wellbeing professionals are unsure if the virus will ever be eradicated, which is why "we are trying to incorporate it into our wellbeingcare and pushing for additional immunizations."

With fewer than 10% of Ghanaians immunised, Dr. Bekoe thinks the nation would face another outbreak of the virus.

GHS will therefore step up its push to get more individuals vaccinated in the coming days.

"There will be one this week, between the 8th and 12th, and another this month, between the 23rd and 27th."

Cases of Covid-19 are on the increase once again.

According to Ghana Wellbeing Service data, there has been a continuous rise since the beginning of April.

Some school administrators are already concerned about the increase in the number of schoolchildren who are ill with sore throats and other Covid-19 symptoms.

According to a notification sent to parents by one of these schools, there has been a significant increase in the number of pupils reporting to the school's sick bay with sore throats, colds, and severe headaches.
