A 61-year-old gentleman who was fully immunized has passed away due to COVID.
According to the Health Ministry, the man belongs to the Northern Division and had a small number of days history of shortness of breath and weakness, he was taken to Savusavu Hospital last Friday.
He was then shifted to Labasa Hospital where he passed away.
The man had numerous comorbidities for a number of years which had been the reason for the severity of his state.
He had not got a booster dose for Covid-19.
There have been a total of 864 fatalities because of COVID-19 in Fiji.
