For the 28th day in a row, no new cases have been reported, bringing Cambodia closer to achieving ‘COVID Zero.’
Today’s official COVID case count (as determined by PCR) was zero, bringing the total number of cases to 136,262.
Cambodia also reported 0 new COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19-related deaths to 3,056 in the country.
The unique variant was detected in 0 new communities and 0 new imported cases in the Kingdom.
In Cambodia now, there are 15,821 Omicron cases, with 1362 imported and 14420 community instances.
There is now one active COVID case (as determined by a PCR test) in the Kingdom.
Cambodia is edging closer to achieving ‘COVID Zero,’ putting the country among the top ranks of countries that have recovered from the epidemic, thanks to an exceptional run of 28 zero case days – the first since the start of the ‘February 20th event’ in 2021.
According to the Prime Minister, if required efforts are not made and the people do not participate, Cambodia will fall into the COVID-19 trap.
The Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of immunisation, adding that it will aid in the recovery effort’s long-term viability by promoting economic growth, raising people’s living standards, and reducing poverty.
The Ministry of Health, on the other hand, claims that the daily COVID figures do not accurately reflect the current number of COVID cases in Cambodia.
Cambodia also reported 0 new COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in Cambodia to 3056.
Although no confirmed recoveries have been made, a PCR test has revealed that there is now one on-going COVID case in Cambodia.
