Vaccination awareness will not stop: Naiorosui

The Provincial Council of Lau, in collaboration with the Health Ministry, is committed to ensuring that as many of its citizens as possible get the second vaccination dose. Bula Ko Lau, along with Health Minister Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete and other community members, has made a recent campaign to increase immunization awareness.

At this point, the Lau Group's Health Ministry says that 95 percent of the Lau Group's population has received their first dose, and they're working to meet the same goal for the second dose.

On top of all that, they are proud of their high vaccination rates compared to the rest of the country, Naiorosui says. Despite this, he emphasizes the importance of continuing awareness.

Vanua o Lau's support for the vaccination campaign, according to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, has led the government to loosen some restrictions, including those on inter-island shipping.

By 2022, Bainimarama says Fiji's economy will be growing at a double-digit rate, thanks in part to the country's excellent vaccination coverage.
