On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh broke the 33 crore dose threshold in Covid vaccination, but the state government has stepped up efforts to vaccinate individuals who have not yet had their second shot.
UP has supplied the most Covid vaccination doses of any state, according to the Cowin website, with 33.08 crore doses.
Maharashtra (16. 74 crore doses), West Bengal (14. 05 crore), Bihar (13. 32 crore), and Madhya Pradesh (11. 94 crore).
“People have developed a careless attitude, which is preventing UP from achieving 100 percent double dosage coverage,” state health officials said.
To close the gap, the state has initiated the second phase of its cluster campaign, in which health professionals visit the homes of those who are due for a second dosage to identify why they have not been vaccinated and persuade them to do so.
