There is no way that LFTs can remain universally free forever- Minister Isle of Man

Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) may not remain universally free forever, says Minister Isle of Man. While there won't be any fees for the rest of this month, the long-term strategy for Covid testing kits is uncertain. However, currently, individuals are encouraged to self-test if they show symptoms, and LFT devices are still provided at no cost to homes. The future of free LFTs is yet to be determined.

According to the minister, there is no way that LFTs can remain universally free forever. But there won't be any fees associated with using it for at least the rest of this month.

It's quite unlikely that lateral flow testing will be completely free for all time. According to the Minister of Health and Social Care, who has stated that he does not yet know what the long-term strategy is for the Covid testing kits, this is what is said to be the case.

The LFT devices will continue to be made available at no cost to homes for at least the remainder of this month, and individuals will continue to be urged to do their own self-tests if they exhibit signs of Coronavirus. In the words of Lawrie Hooper, choices need to be made.
