Islamabad : the Pakistani Ministry of Health has reported 36 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

Following the addition of the new instances, the overall number of people sick in the country has grown to 1,530,556, according to the ministry's estimates.

According to the ministry's statistics, COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 30,379 people in Pakistan, with no new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

COVID-19 tests were performed in 14,635 instances in Pakistan, with a 0.25 percent positivity rate. There are active cases of 76 in critical condition.

On Wednesday, 67 new Covid cases were reported in Pakistan and 72 current cases in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Health of Pakistan reported the first case of COVID-19 Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1 on May 9.
