The Belga News Agency reports that 883 people have tested positive for Covid-19, with 76 in critical condition.
According to the most recent Sciensano Public Health Institute data, an average of 1,310 new Covid-19 infections were diagnosed every day between May 24 and May 30, representing a 36% decrease from the previous week. Between May 27 and June 2, there were 52 hospital admissions per day due to Covid-19, a 28 percent decrease from the previous reference period.
During the same time period, 6.6 people died on average per day while infected with the virus (a 12% decrease), bringing Belgium’s total death toll to 31,768 since the outbreak began. Every day, about 10,400 tests were performed, with a positivity rate of 14.1%.
According to the data, the reproduction rate is 0.81. When the number is less than one, the pandemic is on its way out. In 14 days, the incidence, or the number of new cases per 100,000 people, is currently 204.
