Eradication of the Hepatitis virus in evolving health-care systems
World Hepatitis Summit '22, with the topic "Achieving viral hepatitis elimination in evolving healthcare systems," will take place from June 7 to June 10, 2022. The summit would focus on the critical strategic and operational changes needed to end the viral hepatitis epidemic by 2030, as well as the latest WHO global healthcare sector policy on Hepatitis, HIV, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs). Due to the COVID pandemic and restrictions on travel, this year's Summit would be primarily virtual. A physical centre for presenters in Geneva, Switzerland will be organised. WHO will co-sponsor this summit.
Objectives
- Recognize previous hepatitis accomplishments, identify gaps in regional, global, and national feedbacks, and consider strategies to close those gaps.
- Provide Member States' Ministries of Health and key global partners with an update on major operational and strategic changes in the recently introduced GHSS viral hepatitis plan.
- Provide forum for participants to share their lessons learned and experiences while emphasising the innovation, integration, and collaboration required for VH validation and elimination.
