The Virgin Islands rolls out vaccines for infants as old as 6 months

Dr Esther Ellis, Epidemiologist at the Health Department on Tuesday announced that the department was rolling out Covid-19 vaccines for kids under 6. She shared this news while briefing the public about the COIVD situation on the island.

Kids from 6 months to 4 years will receive the BioNTech vaccines developed by Pfizer as a three-shot series. However, the Moderna vaccine is available as 2 shot dose for kids from 6 months to 5 years. 

Parents are required to provide identification of their children including their birth certificate. 

Community vaccination Centers at St. Croix and Charles Harwood Memorial Complex and the Community Health Clinic will have the walk-in option.
