After 12 weeks of declining infections and deaths, COVID-19 reached new highs in Mexico, according to the CDC. In fact, COVID-19 is responsible for a significant increase in reported cases and fatalities among Mexican residents. In the last two weeks, Mexico has witnessed a small rise in illnesses and fatalities from Coronavirus, which had resulted in a decline of 12 weeks. (PAHO)
The director of PAHO’s Health Emergencies, Ciro Ugarte, stated that the deadliest period for sickness was in the previous five weeks when the highest number of infections occurred among children under ten years old. The group from 30 to 39 years old came next, followed by those between 40 and 49 years old.
“We consider ourselves to be in an interpandemic period; in fact, we propose that public health restrictions should not be relaxed since we see a resurgence of new variants of concern and sublineages due to the presence of a greater transmission opportunity. Finally, one of these subsigs could result in a variant that causes a more serious medical problem
