This report about the state of digital health in the Dominican Republic is to be released within the framework of the 2nd Latin American Congress on Digital Health. The event will be held on September 7th by Arium Salud Digital and AF Strategic Communication. Analyzing the current state of digital transformation in the healthcare sector is a part of the research.

Research on the study is being conducted by the Social Security Observatory (OSES), which is affiliated with the Vice President of Research and Innovation (VRII) of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). According to Fedor Vidal, CEO of Arium Salud Digital, the study's sponsor, Fundación Plenitud is serving as the study's technical advisor. 

The World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, Mapfre Salud, Primera ARS de Humano, ARS SENASA, ARS Universal, AFP Siembra, AFP Popular, as well as other public and private sector organizations support OSES (Social Security Observatory).

In this first publication, we will consider both the public and private sector's needs, along with the current care processes in service providers, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies. It will focus on their needs and priorities for digitization and digital transformation," said Magdalena Rathe, president and founder of Fundación Plenitud and Technical Advisor.

In a statement, AF Strategic Communication president Amelia Reyes Mora expressed excitement at the prospect of presenting this research at the Real InterContinental Hotel during the congress. Additionally, she explained that it would serve as a platform for bringing together health ecosystem players in the region.

As a starting point, we will study Punta Cana, La Romana, Santiago, Puerto Plata, and Santiago. Participants will share their perspectives on how the digital transformation of healthcare is impacting their quality of life and the primary barriers to progress in this process.

This study will also examine perceptions of key players in the public and private sectors, including hospital and clinic directors, clinic directors, diagnostic center directors, union representatives, pharmacists, executives in technology departments, and citizens. At the same time, it will serve as a focal point for the industry.
