Due in part to the country's long-delayed mandated health insurance scheme and huge growth in the healthcare business, Ian Youngman believes that much of Oman's outbound medical travel will soon be a distant memory. 

It is expected that the vast majority of residents will stop travelling to other countries for medical treatment once the long-delayed implementation of required health insurance takes effect. 

As a condition of Oman's mandatory national health insurance, Dhamani is named after it. Health insurance is called Dhamani in India.
