As of May 20, 2022, there have been an additional 262 instances of the  coronavirus in Sofia, Bulgaria, according to statistics from the unified information site. In the previous 24 hours, an extra 5655 tests were carried out, resulting in these new instances.

The latest COVID-19 infection positive rate is at 4.6%. The overall number of COVID patients in Bulgaria now stands at 85,928.

In addition, there are a total of 3264 COVID-19 virus patients who have recovered from the virus and have also been released from hospital.

Meanwhile, seven (7) patients of COVID were killed by the virus on the previous day, increasing the European mortality rate to a total of 37,078 people.

There are now 561 patients undergoing treatment in Bulgarian hospitals, including the 48 who were just hospitalized. COVID-19 patients in the ICU total 50, according to the latest statistics.

On May 19, 2022, Bulgarian health workers gave an additional 767 units of COVID-19 vaccination as approved by WHO. 

Official statistics show that 2,058,394 people have received the requisite amount of COVID-19 immunizations and are therefore protected against the deadly virus as of May 19, 2022. Approximately 29.7 percent of the total eligible population of the country is represented by this group.

Only 755,092 Bulgarian nationals have received their third dosage or booster vaccination for COVID-19, but they are all completely immunised as well. According to official figures, this represents roughly 10.9 percent of the European country's entire eligible population. The country's COVID-19 condition is getting better by the day.
