Singapore reports 2,827 new COVID-19 cases

Singapore: On Sunday, Singapore reported 2,827 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 1,269,635.

According to Ministry of Health statistics, 262 new cases were detected using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 2,565 using ART (antigen rapid test) tests.

There were 253 local transmissions and nine imported cases among the PCR cases. There were 2,471 local transmissions and 94 imported cases among the ART cases with mild symptoms and deemed low risk.

There are currently 282 cases in hospitals, with six in intensive care units.

According to the ministry, one more patient has died because of COVID-19 infection complications, bringing the total death toll to 1,375.
