Romania's health ministry announced on Monday that the country had seen its first case of Monkeypox. Monkeypox is a serious infection that primarily affected regions of western and central Africa before its recent spread across the world.

As the number of cases of Monkeypox rises across Europe, Romania has become the latest country to succumb to the disease. The first incidence of monkeypox was reported in a 26-year-old man from Bucharest, Romania's capital.

According to the ministry, the patient, whose partner recently travelled to many European countries with multiple confirmed cases of the viral disease, is in good health and is being treated and monitored in isolation.
