Ralph Gonsalves, the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has a positive Covid-19 test. The news was verified by the Prime Minister’s office in a Thursday statement.
Part of the press statement read, “Consequently, he won’t travel on 19th June 2022 for the meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government hosted by Kigali, Rwanda. The minister is instable condition and working in self-isolation.”
The 75-year-old Prime Minister mentioned that he has earlier take 5 Covid-19 vaccinations.
At the beginning of this year, the Parliament had to put a hold on budget deliberations because 8 of its members contracted the virus.
The budget was only signed into law when PM Gonsalves changed a senator that was positive for the virus. However, the senator was reappointed as soon as he recovered.
