Over 11.7 Million People in Africa Have Been Diagnosed with the Covid-19 Virus So Far.

As of the 31st of May, 2022, the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 throughout 55 African countries stood at 11,719,736, while a total of 300,052,151 vaccines had been distributed across the continent.

The number of fatalities that were reported to have occurred in Africa reached 253,902, and 9,853,280 persons have recovered. The highest number of documented cases was 3,954,971 in South Africa, where 101,162 individuals also lost their lives. Other nations with a disproportionately high number of casualties include Morocco (1,167,983), Tunisia (1,042,362), Egypt (515,645), Libya (502,016), Ethiopia (472,447), and Kenya (1,672,047).
