According to the country’s health minister, Bruno Leingkone, two sub-variants of the Omicron Covid strain, BA.1 and BA.2, are circulating in Vanuatu.
According to Leingkone, specimens sent to Melbourne for laboratory analysis confirmed the sub-variants.
More information on the two Omicron subvariants would be made available to the public soon, he said, but in the meantime, people were encouraged to continue following public health measures.
