The Goshen Mental Health Services Trust was allowed to draft and submit a proposal if they require additional funding to further their services. 

The health minister,  Valasi Tafito Selesele remarked that the necessary allocation of funding had already taken place for the 2022-2023 budget for NGOs including the Goshen Trust. It is for additional funding, that a proposal has to be submitted.

Valasi also mentioned that NGOs must prioritize constructing new and improved facilities for better patient care.  The Minster got invited to check out the NGO buildings to see what other changes were required. 

CEO of the Goshen Trust, Naomi Eshraghi was also present with Valasi during his visit to the facility. The minister after the tour told the press that the expansion would lead to better care for mental health patients around town. He also talked about the importance of mental health in Samoa. 

Established in 2009, the Goshen Trust caters to mental health patients in Samoa. In this budget, $500,000 has been allocated for health NGO activities.
