According to a statement made by the Chinese embassy in Myanmar on Sunday, China has provided 10 million dosages of COVID-19 vaccines, 13 million COVID-19 vaccine needles, and 2 mobile laboratory trucks to Myanmar.

On Sunday, the Chinese embassy delivered them to Myanmar's Ministry of Health at Yangon International Airport.

Myanmar received two batches of COVID-19 vaccinations and syringes from China between May 18 and May 29.

According to Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai, who spoke at the handover ceremony, China has been providing Myanmar with medical supplies in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as assisting Myanmar in filling and packing COVID-19 vaccines to increase the country's immunisation rate.

Thet Khaing Win, Myanmar's Union Minister for Health, expressed gratitude for China's donation.

The two mobile laboratory trucks, according to Thet, will be utilised at the country's border checkpoints, while the COVID-19 vaccines will be used to immunize youngsters aged five to twelve years old.

According to Thet, Myanmar and China's friendly connection will aid in disease prevention and control, as well as both nations' economic development.

Myanmar has immunised roughly 92 percent of its adult population aged 18 and up, according to Thet.

According to government data, Myanmar had fully vaccinated nearly 26.11 million people, or roughly 47 percent of the population, against COVID-19 as of May 24.

As of Saturday, Myanmar has 613,298 cases of COVID-19 and 19,434 deaths, according to government data.
