Morocco registered 239 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. In addition to that, 116 COVID-19 patients healed during that time period.

According to the ministry’s daily COVID-19 update, a total of 24,828,701 people have received the first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the count of fully vaccinated individuals (1st and 2nd jabs) has surpassed 23,309,193. A total of 6,403,077 individuals got the third jab of the vaccine.

Citing the same medium, the total count of COVID-19 infections recorded since the virus’s outbreak began has risen to 1,167,325 with 1,149,981 recoveries, representing a 98.5 percent recovery rate.

The breakdown of the new COVID-19 infections by regions are as follows; Draa-Tafilalet (02), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (02), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (04), the Oriental (04), Fez-Meknes (11), Souss-Massa (12), Marrakech-Safi (27), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (54), and Casablanca-Settat (123). 

There have been 16,076 coronavirus-related deaths (a mortality rate of 1.4 percent), with no new deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

The total of registered cases increased to 1,268 in the last 24 hours, with one serious or critical infection observed, bringing the number to 18.
