Morocco has found evidence of three possible cases of the viral monkeypox disease.

According to Xinhua news agency, citing the Ministry of Health, the three reported cases are in good health and have undergone medical evaluation.

The ministry announced the formation of a special task force to track the situation across the country.

Monkeypox has been confirmed in 12 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden,  the United States, and the United Kingdom, according to the World Health Organization.

These cases do not include the 21 countries in Central and West Africa where the disease is deemed endemic.
