Over 1 million Armenians receive Covid-19 vaccines: Ministry of Health discloses vaccination statistics

By the June 12, 2022, Armenia has given 2 207 307 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines, as per a disclosure by the Ministry of Health in Yerevan.

The first dose was received by 1 136 403 Armenians. The second dose was accordingly administered to 1 009 922 people. Booster shots were administered to just 56 650.

Armenian health officials had recorded 423 006 fresh cases of infections by the virus since the beginning of March 2020.

Armenia has approved six different Covid-19 vaccines for administration. These include Sinopharm (China), AstraZeneca (Britain and Sweden), and Pfizer, as well as the Armenian brands Spikevax and CoronaVac (Moderna, USA).

Anyone over the age of 18 can receive free vaccination. This spreads even to tourists from other countries, who are visiting Armenia.

The current State of Emergency in Armenia was extended by the Government on November 11 last year and is to expire at the end of June 2022.

A state of emergency was declared on March 16 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
