From 12:01 p.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 28, 2019, the Ministry of Health and Social Services recorded five new COVID-19 infections and 178 persons are in quarantine.

All the fresh five cases were locally transmitted.

During the reporting period, 5,966 persons were treated for COVID-19. The number of active cases on Montserrat has decreased to 33 because of this.

COVID-19 may be severe and result in long-term problems or death, so the public should take every precaution to avoid catching the virus by washing their hands frequently, using face masks in public places, following quarantine and isolation procedures, and being vaccinated against it.

Furthermore, those who are infected should visit a doctor as soon as possible if they experience indications of serious symptoms such as shortness of breath or difficulty breathing and chest pains; by calling the Flu-Hotline at 496-7437 or 493-4755.
