Lawrie Hooper, the Minister of Health, has stated that the goal of Manx Care is to have all patients who have been referred to the mental health department begin treatment within 18 weeks. Manx care has set this objective for mental health patients on the Isle of Man.

It was just brought to light in Tynwald that the typical length of time a child must wait before receiving treatment is over 200 days.

According to Mr. Hooper, the emphasis that the healthcare practitioner gives to individuals with physical ailments should also do the same to those who require support for their mental health.
